The Nikon D60 is one of the most popular digital SLR cameras around and succeeds the entry-level Nikon D40xl. It’s a semi-professional, digital SLR camera that comes as a kit with a Nikon standard 18-55mm zoom lens.
The camera follows conventional DSLR design in having a shooting mode dial on the top of the camera allowing you to select one of the advanced modes like aperture-priority, or one of seven scene modes. The D60 is very comfortable in terms of handling with a deep, contoured handgrip on the right-hand side. A new feature is the 'Eye-Control' feature which turns off the LCD screen to help conserve battery power and stop distracting you from taking that all important photo. Other new features include taking the 'Expeed' processor from the D3 and D300 models and putting it at the heart of the D60; improving tonality and colour rendition, as well as post processing features. "Very good graphic user interface. Menu intensive but menu very easy to follow and set. Good kit lens, with excellent macro facility and useful stabilisation so that longer shutter speeds ( in low light ) can be hand held. In camera processing of both raw and jpeg images. Sensor dust cleaning. Small and light but good handling".

"The camera is easy to use, it doesn't take long to get to grips with it the instruction manual is very clear and eay to understand making very quick and easy to start using the camera. I paricularly like the playback option where you can see the image you have just taken. This is brilliant for me as I have just started a Photography course and therfore I can instantly see if I have made a mistake. The camera is lightweight and all the neccesary buttons are close to hand. The lcd screen shows the images very clearly. I find the camera easy to hold it is not bulky at all".
